in in the process of painting my calapers and now i caint get my brakes back together, the front ones were fine but the back right one is f**ked up. the piston wont compress to reassemble, What can i do to get the piston to recompress??
i usually get a large C clamp, clamp it to the piston and the end of the caliper and slowly compress the piston. im sure there's a tool for that, but i didnt have one
It has to be rotated and pushed in at the same time
Geraldineryder.... why dont you listn to Bernie and get a caliper turn back set from your local auto store. There is even a tool that is shaped like a small cube that does this job as well, and it fits on a 3/8" ratchet... if you continue to try to squeeze the piston in, you WILL ruin your caliper. Get the right tools, or dont do the job!
