I believe if you swap out the whole dash (including everything behind it), you will be OK. I just putthe heater box/controls out of a '91 behind the '86 dash and it required somemodifications:
- Heater ducting now mounted to the firewall (not the backside of the dash)
- Heater controls now located in the radio cutout in the dash
- Wiring is the same, but the plugs are different
- Only ran ducting to the defroster and the floor, the other duct work did not match
The dash was redesignedalong with a lot of other stuff for the '87 facelift. The newer heater box is a direct replacement, but the duct work is different, and the mounting holes for the duct work does not line up with theholes/nutplates on the '86 dash. The newer heater controls are totally different than the '86. The wiring is the same for both models, but the actual plastic plug for the fan speed(on the '86) does not fit into the newer heater control.
i mean the dash, door panels, seats, and consol?
will these all work or no?
I would think the dash and console would work if you replaced both, and everything associated. In other words, you cannot mix and match without some modification. I could be wrong. The seats will definitely fit, though the brackets I had in the'86had a shorter distance between the bolt holes (front and back) on each side of the seat. I had todrill new holesin the bracket for the back bolt on each side. I would think thedoor panels could be swapped, though power window/door lock controls would need to be switched to the newer design if you went with the new door panels.
the 4 eyes are different under the plastics the seat belt mounts are a lot lower so you would have to drill in holes the plastics just dont line up and start to bulge out in some spots it just doesnt work i tried with plastics out of a 90
