RE: sputtering 5.0
you need to drop your fuel tank and pull the pump out to be sure. i have this exact problem currently and i was supposed to install a new tank today, but i'm hungover and don't feel like it.
dropping the tank isn't all that hard. only 2 bolts for the straps, then slowly lower it with a jack until you can reach the hoses and electrical connections on top, undo them, and it pulls right out. Be sure to keep track of what hoses went where. It's crutial that they go back in the same spot. Only 2, so it's not hard.

ok do u need a special wrench to take off the tank....i herd you need a brass wrench or something so it doesnt create a spark or something weird like that.,....will i notice the baffle when i take the fuel tank off....do i have to take the tank apart to find the baffle

yah, when you drop the tank, you will need to remove the fuel pump, which goes in from the top on the far right side of the tank. it has a lock ring around it. you can just use a regular screwdriver and hammer to lightly tap the ring around in a circle, to unlock it. some people say to use brass tools, as they won't spark, but those people have problems holding tools straight. as long as you dont miss, or knock the screwdriver in some odd angle, it won't move off the lockring, creating no sparks. also the lock ring is aluminum, it will bend and split before it will spark.

After the pump is removed, just look into the hole that the pump came out of. you will see the baffle. it kinda looks like a big steel bowl. use your screwdriver and try to move the baffle around. if it moves, you have two options. drain all the gas, make SURE it's dryed completely, and have it welded back in place, or get a new tank. i got a new tank because i also have a leak somewhere.
