Default C-Clip eliminator kit

Just how do these work?
Can i install the thing myself on my 8.8" rear or is machine work needed?

The axles are just pressed into them and then they are bolted on where the backing plates attach.

What's the advantage to them anyway? Anyone know? The only thing I can tell is them being pressed onto the axles and then bolted in is there is more surface area securing them in place over just a c-clip holding them in. maybe that's it.

The idea is that WHEN you break an axle inside the rear end, the c-clip eliminators will keep the axle from sliding out of the rear of the car, which will prevent you from crashing and wrecking the back end of your car

Ive seen in track rules where they require them if you are running like 12's or something. I believe you only need them when you have lots of horsepower, which...most of us sadly do not yet

That may only be for competition. Most tracks I go to are pretty lax for T&T days

Don't cobras have axles that just slide in and out w/ the independent rear suspension? I don't think they have any c clips.
