I did that with the T5 in my old S10 and ended up screwing up 3rd gear. Sometimes I had to take the shifter off and pry on the shift rod with a pry bar to unlock it from 3rd gear (it got stuck in gear). I drove it for 3 months without using 3rd gear until I found a replacement tranny.]

T5's are weak.

I sometimes shift without the clutch on my Elantra but Ive got a 100k warranty.

i did that plenty of times, i called it power shifting. leave the gas to the floor through 1-4 gaers just use the clutch in between. it does take its toll on trannys ive been through a few, just weekend racing. i dont think it will work without the clutch though.

dads done it in my 94, he knows the T5 i a piece of sh**. That's why we have a new t/tko-600 to go in it after the rebuild. Hes shifted w/out the clutch a few times and it worked fine, but that thing has 130,000 miles on it and the syncro between first and second is screwed up. He used race V8 Supercar Series in Australia and New Zealand, I'm from New Zealand but moved to the U.S. in 01.
