rear shock question?

rear shock question?
i have a 93 and above my rear axle on each side of my car there is a shock about 9 inches long that runs with the car front to back. does anyone know the correct name for these, for i can replace them. mine look like crap.

+1 I just re-read it I didnt readthe "9' long part" I just read that it was a another shock that ran from back to the front of the car lol I was confused for a sec... losing my mind [&:]
