Default new seats install

so the gf got me racing seats for the stang, its an 88lx. The new seats take the brackets from the original seats and they bolt onto the bottom of the new seats. Once the brackets are in place on the new seats they do not line up with the original holes for the seat. If i took 3/4" steel and bolted it to the original holes and then bolted the new seats to the steel, would this work? Would this be safe?

im not sure on this, but you shouldn't need new brackets, the ones from the original seats should bolt right onto it

oh boy.....take your old seat brakets, place them on the bottom of your new seats, drill the holes and bolt them together.

Heck you should be able to go to the wrecker and pick out any pair of seats and modify them to fit anythng....jsut takes common sense..

I did this when i was 16 to my old ford bronco...adapted hyundi seets to fit...bad choice by the way....
