Default Got some questions about some wheels

I know absolutely nothing about wheel backspacing and offset so here's my questions. Lets say that I'm looking at a set of wheels, 15x8's all around. Specs are below. Simple question though. If I run a 205/55/15 on the front and like a 255 or a 265/60/16 in the back will these wheels work or are they going to stick out or anything?

15x8
offset:-19.00mm
Backspacing(in): 3.750 in.
center bore: 2.95 in.

i am almost certain a 5.0 uses 5.5" BS but i could be wrong.

you can measure it by laying the wheel down, and measuring from the mounting surface on the back of the wheel (like in between the lug holes) to the iner face of the rim

Smaller back spacing mean that I can run a wider tire or anything?

The less the backspacing, the more the wheel will stick outward towards the fender. The more the backspacing, the more it sticks inside the fender. 205's are to narrow of a tire for an 8" rim.

So maybe 225's on the front? I guess what I really want to know is if I get these wheels and throw some tires on em, is it going to look normal? I don't wanna look likeone of those mexican truckswith my wheels sticking 1 foot out of the wheel wells.

First deside on the rims you want, then find out what size/backspacing they noffer and go from there. Look up my wifes profile and look at her gallery pics. Her wheel are 17x8.5 all around, 5.75 backspacing, 240/45/17 on the front, 275/40/17 on the rear. They don't stick out and fit fine.

I've already found the wheels that I want, but they've only got 1 size for a 4-lug 4x4.25 wheel. I listed the specs of those wheels in the first place.

Default RE: Got some questions about some wheels

The backspacing of a wheel will be determined by the width and the application. For example: Ponies are 16x7 and have a 4.75 or 5" BS (IIRC), but a 17x9 wheel will have a 5.70-5.75" BS w/ a 18-19mm offset.

The offset is about right on those wheels, but the BS is not nearly deep enough.....

BTW, go to tirerack.com to find out about everything (tire sizing, wheel sizing, BS, offset, etc.)
