Default Would this work ?

This question is for my brother.

He has an 88 LX with a 302 H/C/I with a nitrous set-up on it. It makes 276 rwhp. He wants to throw a 200-250 wet shot at it but his 190lph fuel pump won't handle it. His fuel system consists of aeromotive rails and regulator, 24lbs injectorsand a BBK 190lph fuel pump.

Is it possible to retain the 190 in-tank pump anduse anAeromotive A1000 as a booster pump? He dosen't want to drop the tank and put in a bigger 255lph pump like I told him.

I didnt argu with him, I just told you guys what he told me.

His pump can handle it, from what you have told me. He needs an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so he can ramp up the pressure. That way there is more fuel allowed in the fuel feed line.

I assume the Aero pump you speak of is an in-line fuel pump. If so, no you dont not want to use it with the in tank pump. Will cause problems by it pulling in more fuel than the in tank pump can push out.

Could you just take the in-tank pump out and just use the A1000 all the time.

He is running nitrous. When you use nitrous on a car with a vaccum operated pressure regulator, as soon as you hit that switch the vaccum supply is cut off and the pressure goes up to like 70 PSI. There is no reason to get an adjustable one. I dont know what the BBK 190 is rated at as far has how much horsepower it can support, I would find that out, then find out how much the 255 will support. You gotta take a guess at how much HP he will be making with the nitrous on though.

I have a feeling if he sends a 250 shot into that stock block ur going to have more to worry about then a fual pump.
