Default Play in the Tilt steering

I have a little up and down play in my steering column. Anyone know how to fix this? Please dont tell me I need a new column. Also, i dont know if its normal...but it seems like my column is pointing to the left while you sit in the drivers seat. It is probably just me cuz I dont know why it would be like that...it might be a little quirk the mustang has.

Its probably just the 2 bolts are loose near the ignition. Just take the top and bottom piece off (3 screws) and you can get to it easy.

I think they may have taken the column apart when they installed the viper alarm. Maybe its loose from that.

just check the obvious bolts down the column (it will involve taking the plastic steering cover housing off) if everything's tight it's probably time for a new column. They tend to come loose under driving conditions and time.

You need a new column. j/k lol, yea I agree look at the bolts and be sure everything is snug and tight, then have someone else sit in it and see if they notice it, be sure its not just you... lol. Good Luck

Mine does the same thing. I never thought it wasn't supposed to though.

+1 on the bolts. Mine did this due to the fact that I put weight on the steering wheel whilepulling myselfin/out of the car. Makes them come loose. Habit that is hard to break.

Mine does that all the time. i guess they just work loose, just 2 10mm bolts under the plastic.
