Default TB and Head question

What size TB would work best with a 331 stroker and a 200 shot N20? This engine will also have Victor Jr. Heads and Performer RPM 5.0 Intake manifold. Im ordering all the detail stuff like Ingnition and MAF, basicly anything that can be replaced is getting replaced with aftermarket stuff. I just dont wanna get a TB to big and hurt low end performance. Im thinkin of an Accufab 75mm.
Also will BBK long tube headers bolt up to Edelbrock Victor Jr. Heads? Edelbrock says the heads have the "standard 2" wide exhaust bolt pattern".

One last little bs question, I havnt got a chance to ask the Speed shop guys what kina power im gonna be makin, so can any of you estimate the power Ill be making? Its gonna be a 331 Stroker, Edelbrock Victor Jr. Heads, Performer RPM 5.0 intake, its gonna have the works done to it (full exhaust, ignition, best cam for application) along with a 200 wet shot of N20. If any of you guys have an estimation, it would be nice to know what range of power ill be in.

I would go 75 mm / Pro-M.

on the horsepower scale i'd have to say 600 ish? Let's put it this way, if it runs properly, ie no nitrous problems and it runs good throughout the entire rpm range, and your not happy with it, there's something wrong with you...LOL

Sounds like your heading in the right direction, keeps us posted on your results.

Good luck

well first a 90mm lightning maf is needed and a 70-75mm t/b is big enough to keep throttle response....600 is not even close you'll be in the 495-525 area

A 331 stroker and a 200 shot of nos and only 525 at best????? a stock motor is 225, add 200 for NOS and that's 425, a built 331 stroker is only pushing a 100 more hp than a stocker?

Something doesn't add up here , with a built 331 stroker, long tube headers, full exhaust and all of the goodies he's getting AND a 200 shot of nos, i still stand by my 600hp estimate

I think that the stroker alone to 331 CID is really only worth about 1 HP per cubic inch anyway. That would only pick it up by 29 HP tops.
I would concur with 425-450 maybe.......

It depends on the tune really.
I have a question though,Your going to use victor jr. heads and only an 5.0 rpm intake.?To me it sounds like it would work against each other because it works in a different power band and also your going to lose some bottom end with those heads anyways.Do you see what i'm getting at?Either you can get an intake that works with those heads or you should get heads that work in the same rpm as the "rpm" intake for best results. It sounds like your wanting some big hp numbers so ask around. What kind of hp numbers do you want and where in the rpms do you want them? Also are you going to be running this car on the street? How often?.
I've watched cars at the track that have the victor jr. setup running spray(not sure how much) but they were running low 10's and some were in the high 9's if they can get the traction to the ground. And i would think that a n/a "rpm" packaged car with a good driver should be in the high 12's with the proper suspension setup, and drive it everyday.
Good luck!!

Thanks Rye, I didnt even think about what RPM the Victor Jr's run at. Do you have any idea what the RPM range is for those heads? I drive this every day so the most I can do is the 1500-6500 rpm range.
