an out of date glasspack muffler used back in the day

to sum it up in a nutshell, they were the flowmasters of the 60s, only they sound kinda raspy.

+1. I would prefer a 5.0 with a few more miles on it. I learned my lesson buying old motorcycles with low miles thinking that it would be like having a new bike. Wrong!! I had more engine problems with low mileage old bikes, than I ever had with even super-high mileage bikes that were ridden everyday. Just my opinion.

Having said that, if it's not leaking any fluids, and doesn't blow smoke at startup from cold, and runs well and looks good, I'd buy it for $3500. It wouldn't hurt to try to talk him down a couple hundred though. Either way, if it is what it appears to be, it's worth that amount...if not more.
