Default Near stock combo

I was just recently reading that other thread with the video in it. When I was done, I saw this video come up as a similar video. I surprised to see that this is a friend's car of mine. This car is a stock longblock except for a Crower 15511 cam. It has an Explorer intake, exhaust and a used NX kit. This was a 4cyl. conversion. He pieced together a good T5 from a few different bad ones (he rebuilds T5s). It's the stock 7.5" rearend with factory 3.73s. The rear MTET Streetswere $25 from a friend. I gave him the motor for free since he helps me out all the time after he asked me to locate him a core. He has between $1000-1100 in this entire setup including the price of the car. Here is his first nitrous pass on a 100 shot. This was done the last week of October this year.

Has anyone else done something similiar with a stock motor except for cam, 7.5" rearend and a 100 shot?

NX FTW!

Cheap setups are not very cost efficient. That 7.5 will not hold up long with sticky tires nor will the T5. Never the less, its still cool going an 11.4 with $1100.

He runs 12.8 @ 106 N/A and 11.47 @ 117 on the bottle. He doesn't have near the suspension work you do, but I think he's lighter.

the weight is probably the biggest factor here. From what I have seen of RSW007's car, it looks like a full weight vehicle.. i could be wrong, but a stripped out notch doesnt exactly weigh much

Themph difference has some to do with the tranny difference also. But the coupe has manual steering, no a/c, an electric fan andfront sway bar delete. It still has full stock interior and stock k-member. Having no a/c, an electric fan andfront sway bar delete is almost the standard these days. So I don't consider the car stripped.

Yea, I think he's around 3000lbs with him in it. He's only about 150lbs. The original 4cyl. car helps out some too.
