the gt500 is just a gt with exhaaust and supercharger and other little things. and puts out around 500 hp i think. BUT the suspension is the same as the GT. on the other hand. the saleen as lesss horsepwoer but has a far better suspension than the gt500

wtf? you make it sound like its not anything special.....and where did you get the idea that the suspension is the same, b/c 500hp on the same GT suspension wouldhandle like **** and would probably be dangerous, do some research b4 you go around throwing out false information....here's a tip go to www.ford.com and look **** up

lol once again 89ford's got it right andI wouldn't be surprised if there will be people here to argue, but yes hes right, in so many ways the Cobra Mustang aka the Mustang Shelby Cobra GT-500 is a lotdifferent than the GT. Suspension, Engine, Exhaust, Tranny (I think, at least it has a short throw), S/C and other things that I don't know about so I'm not going to guess and put out false info. Not to mention the front end, the looks of this car put the GT (already a beautiful car) to shame.

I'm w/ Tinman...Ford needs to lose some weight on the GT500....do a more affordable version of the FR500, too. A lightweight Stang w/ a blown 5.4 or the Boss 302 motor.

Hell yea.f*ck the whole modular idea and go back to pushrod. And hell why theyre at it just make an all aluminum 460 big block with a hudraulic roller cam, efi, and about a 500 lbs diet at the least. that would definitly give chevy and dodge a good run for the money.

well it was a factory 383 hp 4spd car but when i did it in the old days it was just a hot rod, todays word "clone" the 440 hp-4spd-and dana came from a couple donar cars(70 rt /st challengers),at one time i had 60 ebodyparts cars, if i had only know what they would be worth today i would be rich !one of thert's was a factory 440 6pk with a 4:10 dana (trac pak car) and if you watch barrettjackson you will know what i mean for $$'s the car was a blast but kids came along and it has been resting in the waiting to get put back together, its getting close on the list of to do things, my youngest is 16 so time is getting close for fun again .........................
i can almost smell the rubber burnin, nothing can replace a big block 4 spd car for fun, yeah the newer injected stuff is cool but those cars were just plan brutal !

yeah, a real boss 302 would be great for hitting 8 grand between
shifts , if you never rode in a 69-70 you missed some fun

i think an idea ford could do is the 351 cleveland with a bigger cam, it would be a beast and still be easy to mod
but i think this "MOD" era is killing ford more than the ls1. I thnk if they went back to pushrod and made a better block than the 302 and possibly big block they would have one nasty car
