Default Computer Bypass?

hey all,

I am a bit new here so I will try to explain this the best way I can. Me and my father have been working on his 85 mustang GT for a while now and swapped the 302 for a 351w. We also switched to Carberated from Fuel Injected. The car is almost complete after four months of work but the only problem now is that we need to bypass the computer so that power is given to needed components such as the distributor. We have gotten the car to turn over but the spark plugs naturally dont spark. Does anyone know where to find a guide for bypassing the computer? If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You,
sdwrage

well for starters... you cant use any of the EFI related stuff... as far as the computer goes... you shouldnt even have it in the car.

We already took into account the fact that we cant use any EFI related stuff in the car. as for the computer it was in the car when we had bought it because it was fuel injected. Is there a way to bypass it?

Let me rephrase this. How do we remove said computer and then rewire it accordingly? Is there maybe an online step by step guide for doing this? Im not the one doing the electrical work so I apoligize for my ignorance in the matter.

You have to completely remove the computer. No computer whatsoever is needed. THe computer is located in the passenger side kick panal. AFter that all you have to do is figure out what vacuum lines need to go where and the rest of the associated plumbing.

So no rewiring needed? If thats the case then that should be a simple task!

Check for the information you're looking at http://www.jason.fletcher.net/tech/e...b/efi-carb.htm , '85 GT's (auto) were CFI...check that procedure.
