gt40 heads

Default gt40 heads

are these heads that much better than stock 5.0 heads? got the whole engine out of an explorer and thinking about doing the head and intake swap.

yes. It's one of the cheapest and easiest ways to gain decent HP.

They are better, but if they are explorer heads they are gt-40p heads. you will need to get headers to fit. Headers for stock style mustang headsthe spark plug(s) will touch the headers and will burn spark plug wires.

I heard that they aren't that great unless you milled the heads to get your compression back.

Pretty sure they're GT40P heads if they are 1997.5+...GT40s 1997 and below. I could be wrong, though.

all explorer heads arent gt40p's if its pre-97 theyre gt40's if theyre post-97 theyre gt40p's, from what ive searched
