Default 93 questions

Yo guys, new to the forum. Well heres the deal. I’m planning on picking up a 93 gt. Its got about 84,xxx on it. They are asking 4,800 for it but I can maybe bring it down a bit. But what I’m here asking for is what should I look for? Its up here in PA so I got to check for rust and everything, but is there anything I should specifically check? I don’t know what kind of issues these cars had so I’m not trying to buy something that’s too messed up. I’m not to worried about tranny and such because i plan to rebuild it and i plan on tearing the whole interior out. Thanks, Dane

For that price the car should be pretty much perfect. Check the lip under the hatch and the bottoms of the doors, underneath check the floors where the drain plugs are, torque boxes, door handles, hinge pins (sagging doors). If you're looking for something that needs work and you plan on guttingthe interior, you can get something a lot cheaper. I got a 93 LX in the fall that was absolutely mint, no problems, for less than that.

You can also verify if the car has a good mantainance like spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, battery, air filter, etc.Take a good run in it and check how it feels

Thanks guys i'll make sure i cover those terms. He said the car has never been hacked on? I have no idea what hes talking about. Im guessing it means no mods or anything of that sort? Def goin take it for a good 30min run. Give it some time for everything to warm up and see if there are any tranny issues or anything.

Wow, sounds like my car lol I got my 93 GT w/ 84K on it for 5K .... or 4800 dont remember. 100% all original, 65 year old female owned, absolutly no rust, perfect interior, really good paint, good quarters, etc brand new tranny. I feel like I could of gotten it a little cheaper but I was wiling to pay the little extra just because of the two owner, never abused, 100% original, female owned, etc. Its a good piece of mine when you know you are the first person to dig into the car in the past 13 years.
