Subs in a convertible

RE: Subs in a convertible
I had to build my own. With the completely enclosed trunk of the verts, you will not hear the subs that well. I took out the cover that hides my top hardware, and built a box that is flat and the width of the car. If you can imagine box that is about 6 inches tall, and extends from the rear of the back seat into the trunk and is flush with the back wall of the trunk. The sub in inside the car and is flat enough to still allow normal operation of the top. I can take some pictures later this week if you want. I could not find anything on the market that was prefabed for our cars. Dont forget to check out our Convertible Sub forum under General Tech on the main page. Welcome to the board.

+1 with twotone
imade a box that is 7 inches tall and about 6 inches short of the total width and about 15 inches wide. I used 2 12" JL W0. the need like a 6.5 inch mounting depth.Used a JL 500/1 amp and it was pretty damn loud. Even with the top down it was very loud.
its very easy to build one.. Go buy a 3/4" piece of MDF from menards or home depot or something for 15 bucks and make it.

I have one ten in my trunk and it catches people off guard from a vert. Going to two infinity perfects when i get the money to build the box. You can rock it out with 12's but that is a little much IMHO. And check out the vert sub section.
