Default Rusted old exhaust needs to go...

I got a sawzall and got the tips off of the mufflers, But I can't seem to get the stock h-pipe loose. I loosed the bolts on both sides off of the exhaust manifolds.. There is also a small tube that is running beside the exhaust, seems like it would be something for the EGR system, but if I put a O/R h-pipe on there, will it have that hookup for it? Also, how in the hell do I get that tube apart and unhoook it from my current h-pipe? It seems like it has a strange black coupleing to hold it on...

I have tried getting the mufflers off too, used a deadblow hammer for a few good mins, damn thing is rusted together or something. The whole exhaust hangs by something and I can't find it. I thought it was free when I let the bracket toward the back of the h-pipe loose and the damn thing fell on me. But something just isn't letting it come out. Any tips for breaking it loose?
I know there are like 20 questions in this thread, I couldn't find any questions like any of these on here. I searched for the past hour.. But any one please just gimmie some tips. I'd hate to have to bolt everything back up and take it somewhere.

There were 2 bolts on each exhaust manifold, one bolt that was holding the EGR tube, the 2 bolts that were in the bracket toward the end of the h-pipe. Mufflers just had the hangers and the 4 bolts holding them to the h-pipe. Am I missing something?

Did you see the 2 hooks or braces on top of your hpipe? they go on a bracket right above the trans mount. you have to slide the hpipe back about 6inches to slide them out. The tube is the return from the smog pump. you cane cut it with your saw zall and reattach it with high temp heater hose and hose clamps. Yes an off road hpipe will have the hook up for it. If you are putting new exaust on anyway, and all else fails get crazy with that saw zall

Yeah, as soon as I read your post I realized that it's all trash now... I cut everything off as far as i could. The stock H-pipe is heavy as hell too.. It was the two rubber hangers on the tranny mount.

One more question though, I don't need gaskets for pipes that slide inside of each other do I? Is there anything that I might be able to put on it to keep them from binding up?

Also, here's a pic of the tube that connects the EGR thing... whats that black piece? Is there anyway I can get it off without cutting? Thats in kind of a tight spot.

Isn't that tube from the smog pump? If it is you wont need it if you plan on running an offroad pipe.

Yeah, it's the tube for it, but will the car run fine with it just not hooked up? I have a BBK O/R h-pipe about to go on it... I borrowed a smaller jigsaw from work so I can cut it easy tomorrow..
Sucks starting a project and then having to go to work. Makes you think about it all day at work..

Kind of Off Topic but I love the looks of that Mazda 6 you have. (which is technically Ford so it's all good). What do you think of that car? My dad was thinking about buying one.
