I have a 5.0 HO motor out of my mustang, only way I knowthat isbecause it says on the intake, is there another way to tell? I have another motor out of an 89 ltd an unsure if its an HO motor, whats the difference between an HO 5.0 an just a 5.0 besides the horsepower???????

i know that the ho up to 92 (not 93) has forged pistons. and i believe that the piston rods a a little shorter but im not completly sure of that. someone correct that if i'm wrong.

cams are diff. Take the valve cover off and see if it says the year

find the casting numbers on it and run a search on them, you can see that way also. there should be some on the heads and the block.

if you take the intake off and dont see the little spider tray thing then its not ho. ho is a roller. so if the intake is off and there is a tray that holds down the lifters then it is ho.
