WOT means wide open throtle, and if its pings(detonation) you'll probably know when it does
-Running 16 degrees, and 93 octane, no problems at all

Like posted above.... every car is different. I am running about 13 right now on 91 octane. I never tried going higher but I plan on it very soon. I raised it from 10 to 13, didnt ping and got lazy and didnt feel like going any further with it lol

from what i have seen so far 16 is about all you really wanna do if your stock, but again it depends on the car really. right now im stock, and ill prolly go up to about 15* or so, and prolly run 91-93.

is it true that bumping the timing help on mpg??

Who knows, you might not be able to make it to 16... you might be able to go further. Every car is different. Just bump it up a degree, take it for a spin, hit WOT a few times, see if your pinging, if not raise it up again. When you start to ping drop it down a degree.
