Default New Oil Pan

So the oil pan gasket needs changing on my 92 GT. I figured while I was replacing the gasket I would throw a 7qt pan on that I could later use on the stroker I want to build. I picked up a Canton Racing 7 quart deep front sump oil pan and new pickup tube. Is there anything special I need to do with a new oil pan other than hoist up the engine 3-5 inches? Also, while I'm in there should I put a new oil pump in since I'm not a huge fan of hoisting the motor more often than I have to? The car only has 35000 miles on it but it sat for years (hence the dried up gasket). Also, I really hate rust, this pan is gold iridited (which is what the Moroso marine pans are coated with), does anyone know if this is a very effective way to prevent rust as compared to just a steel painted pan? The car isn't a designated driver and never sees snow and rarely if ever, rain. Thanks in advance for all of your help and advice.

Don't worry, I'm not asking how to get the pan out, I've read the dozens of threads on that. Don't hate me, I did the search, lol.

well i have the other post going on the oil pan right now....and all i can tell u is if u already have the pan otu u should prolly replace the pump. i've heard form numerous sources that they have a tendency of dying out every 100,000 miles....so why not?....as for the pan...nice choice, my brother is an engineer for canton, i'll ask him whats best to coat it with. let u now in like a day.

I'm just wondering if it's really worth it with only 35k on the car and I only put on 3-6k a year if that.
