Default a cam question

i have a bone stock 88 gt.here is what im going to put on in the next few weeks= =>trick flow upper and lower track heat,automeater-tach/oil press/watter temp, and volts(2 pod for vents and 1 pod for a-piller,professional pro pollished 70mm egr spacer and pollished 70mm t-body,msd dist/coil and 6al box,b-303 cam,rocker shims for the cam,elderbrock nos kit with purge and blow down tube,welds with front runners,bbk shortys with 2 1/2 x-pipe with 2 chamber flowmasters,gaskets,spark plug wires and everything to change it over to mass air(harness,ecu and maf came out of a 89 gt). The shop i got the cam from sold me a set of rocker shims and said i MIGHT need them.my brotherhad a b-303 camput in his 93 with stock heads,rockersect..years ago but i never heard of someone using cam shims.has anyone done this??

well first you have the wrong intake and throttlebody way to much as for the cam not much gain there with stock heads....itwould be better to open up the exhaust add some pullies etc while you save for some heads

I would get a bigger cam, put all that stuff on until you get some better heads. You will see a increase in hp, but will be limited until the heads. But you can enjoy until then.

i dont wantto put heads on it.im not looking for speed,and ill never use the bottol.i just want it to look and sound good for car shows.i have 2 slipped disk and a pinched nerv in my neck so im not trying to go fast and by the way,my brothers car ran a 12.80 at milan with the same set up i have but he has a tremic trans and a cobra upper and lower so i know it will run good,im just not sure about the cam shims?

well you intake rpm range is no where close to what that engine runs at...a cobra intake would be better......buying a cam just for a lope to get notice is silly..you would be better off just installing a set of 1.7 rockers offtop my head would be about .472.
throw a set of 4;10's pulleys,180 stat,2.5" exhaust,rockers,better headers,65mm t/b you be fine

B-cam with 1.7s would be about .512 lift. 1.6s is .480 lift.

all i want to know is will the cam work with the stock heads,rockers?i got all there parts 2 years ago and never used them.i had the car sence it had 19,000 miles and now it only has 70,000 on it.the car is mint in side and out.never been hit,painted,scratched,beat on,no rust at all,nothing broke and she still looks and runslike she did day one.im not looking to go racing,all i want to do is drive a few miles a day on sat and sunday to a few car shows.if its a 13.8 car i dont care,its for show not go.all i want to know is WILL THE CAM WORK WITH THE STOCK HEADS AND ROCKERS.
