Default weight on bottom of rearend

i just put in a new rear end with new upper and lower control arms and switched everything over to poly bushings. i want to remove this weight bolted to the bottom of the rear end housing. supposedly its thereto help with the pinion angle and i was told by a few friends that i shouldn't remove it.
Any suggestions? is it ok to remove it?

o well that makes more sensethen
is it necessary to keep it on there? if i take it off will it tend to vibrate a lot or is it negligible?

Why do you want to take it off? I would leave it.
