Im just bought a new alternator and put in on, but i cant get the serpentine belt back on, me and my brother in lawhave be tryin pry up the tentioner upbut it dosent get far enough to put over the other pully. We did once, but then i had to take that alternator back. So its pissing us off!

just have to work with it. it shouldnt be too hard to pull up that tensioner. make sure you have the belt running through the pullies right.

with a properly working tensioner, you should be able to get the belt on with ease.

Just put a 3/8 breaker bar with a socket on it and push it towards the passenger side of the car.
Mine was tight too but I got it on.

i agree that it shouldnt be a struggle for you. i can change mine with a big screw driver in a matter of minutes. if two of you are having a hard time something might be wrong. are the alternator pulleys the same on both your new alternator and the old one?
