Default How Much paint?

Hey guys, I have a 91 5.0 LX and the white paint just isn't doing it for me... any idea on how much paint I would need, since I want to do a new paint job? BTW, the paint I'm choosing is the 2k3 Mustang Black, and I want it to be REALLY dark. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

a good paint job will run you around 2 grand or more easy. If you can get it cheaper then that then watch out it may not be that good of paint work. Good Luck!!!

Yeah a paint job is NOT easy!
Not to mention you need to make sure your body is in "paintable" condition.
Do you know how to paint?
If not there really is no need for you to buy paint! Because when you pay someone to paint it.... my guess is they will have paint!!!!!!!!!

If you are asking how much paint you need, I'm guessing you don't know how to paint...painting cars is entirely different than painting your fence. If you're not properly trained, you're going to create a disasterpiece of your car. [:'(]

Surface prep is THE most important step in painting a car, so don't get in a rush. Do yourself a huge favor and take it into a shop and let the pros handle it. Believe me I've been trained in auto refinishing and it's not a simple point and shoot job.

Yeah, painting is not an easy thing to do. A few of my friends thought they would get into the amateur painting game, and everything they did came out terrible. The worst orange peel I've ever seen, no luster whatsoever. You'll probably end up wasting more money on repainting your car over and over then you would by spending the money to get a bodyshop to paint it well the first try.

Its not that hard. Its just takes time and you got to make it smooth. the bast way to do that is primer it them wet sand like one fender thin use a rubber block and run it a long the fender in like a 3"x6" strip and if you see any wet spots sand them down. The same applies to the clear coat good luck. I had my dad show me how to paint my truck and I thought it would be OK to leave the smallest spots lol but win you paint a hair will look like a stick in the paint so no dust hair.

Heh I tried to paint once, but I got half way in & it got dark outside so i said f*** it. I got it primered, sanded it, put 2 coats of light blue paint on, then quit. Paint is pretty ugly without a clear coat.
