With the stock flowing heads & valve springs you will want to keep the stock rockers. 1.7 rockers are a good idea for a cheap 5 - 10hp with the stock cam, but with a higher lift cam the 1.7's aren't needed - as the heads really won't flow any more air up that high anyways - hell maybe even less.

I wouldnt throw in a Cam without changing heads or head porting.. Waiste of time almost. You might see 10 hp gain.I use E-303 cam and i like it makes good low end torque and wakes up nice above 3k rpm.Purchase the cam get some GT40 irons head out of the yard if you can even stock GT40 heads are really good.I use GT40P with my E-303 and im guessing im making about 260-290 to the rear wheels could be more but i sont like to speculate.

roundy.. I agree that cam makes it close with 1.7's as that lift is based on a 1.6 rocker...
[sm=thanx.gif][sm=thanx.gif] I try to be useful as well as ornamental!! LOL

What cam comes stock in the 93's? I just found out this cam the guy has is a Ford E303 with about 1000 miles on it.
If you can get it for cheap, then cool. It has a 110 lobe sep, so the top end HP will be better than a stock cams 115. Plus if you already have 1.7 rockers, then you'll get 1 or 2 more degrees duration a .050, and a total lift of .534(i think). That would be a cool street cam, with great driveability.

Nope, that's with 1.72's. 1.7's will be .528 lift.

you have it wrong..a small c/; lets the engine rev faster..this is why in a heavy car you want a tighter c/l..the c/l donesn't improver rpm range... a wider c/l will in most cases will add in having a broad flat curve of torque.

rondy...this is too easy....ornamental..like in a dingleberry*LOL*

lobe sep, along with dur, determines the amount of overlap - which directly affects the powerband and where the cam makes power

for our purpose though, it directly affects torque and where its made. A wider lsa (like 115*) will spread the torque out pretty evenly throughout the rpm range... a tighter lsa will increase the peak torque, but it will be over a short rpm range and early in the powerband.

Honestly,
Buy a new cam even the same one. The orig Lifters will wear into the cam lobe's. Ever so slightly dont try to save a buck buying or building your engine using a used cam. Spent the 2 bills and get new. Trust me...

roller cams don't really wear at all on the lobes... at least not as long as their oiled
