I was usning a quart about every 1000 miles, give or take 250 depending on how I drove it. I am getting oil up in my intake aswell and was going to add a separator. When you speak of a filter, what do you mean, the filter in the separator or the metal mesh one below the PCV?
I'm talking about the filter element that's inside of oil separators. It feels like it's made of stone or something. So, burning that much oil, have you had any problems with pinging? I've been having some mild pinging lately, and am wondering if it's from years of burning oil through the pcv system.
Now that you mention it, it has bugun to ping here and there, but I just figured it was bad gas everyonce in a while. I wouldn't mind just eleminating the PCV all together. Look at this link about pcv set ups http://mustangpartstech.com/PCVOilControl.html
It very well may be bad gas. Mine does it once it reaches a certain temperature...nearly any time I give it gas at low rpms in certain gears. I'm taking steps now to cure it, even though it's really mild. I'll check out that article later tonight, when I can get all into it, as my son is destroying my house right now. But if your car is using that much oil, you may want to get a separator, and run your favorite decarb...Seafoam or Techron.

Nope. I don't really care anymore. I may have solved some of the problem by fixing a leaking oil level sensor though. Time will tell. I'm not too worried about it anymore, as the car runs well. Also,I figure by the time it presents a big problem, I'll have enough money to build a stroker.

By the way, your Charlie Murphy avatar cracks me up. I keep waiting for him to start shaking like Buck Nasty.
