actually,i figured it out after i did research and found out that the 88 motor was externally balanced, even ford didnt know.....idiots

So the 95 isn't externally balanced? I thought that both the 88 and the 95 had a 50 oz imbalance, externally. Please explaine a little more

Aparently the 88 is external, and the 95 is internal, And i didnt mess anything up along the way...lol...funny you could say that tho....

I'll take a shot at it. If you have your rotating assembly balanced with the pistons and rods all being the same weight (or pretty close to each other) and have the crank itself balanced, that's internally balanced.
Externally balanced is using weights on the flywheel and the use of a harmonic balancer to keep the motor from tearing itself apart. It's cheeper for the Mfg to do it externally, but nowhere near as accurate.

the 94-95 is externally balanced just like 93 and below. i would say when you were switching motors you messed up either the flywheel or the balancer. you can swap motors back and forth they are the same.

all motors can be internally balanced(as far as pistons and connecting rods) but that is different than external balance. The crank with the rods and pistons wouuld never be balanced on there own...think about it, the pistons aren't evenly spaced in a circle around the crank....that would be the only way you could run with no imbalance(correct me if I am wrong, please) The 95 have a 50oz external imbalance, just like the 88. They both use the same flywheel and balancer.

god damn it ...NO! when i used my flywheel from my 95 motor on my newly put in 88, IT VIBRATED HORRIBLY,but not at idle, so i replaced my harmonic balancer and it went away by about half,so then i thought i messed up something using the 95 flywheel,so i pulled my trans and put in new one from summit racing with a 50oz balance,so tecnically it matched the balancer, when it was all back together,STILL HAD THE VIBRATION! so i needed a new clutch anyway so i took it to a clutch shop and the guy told me that the 88 motor is externally balanced,so he ordered a new flywheel with bolt on weights, when it was in,STILL VIBRATED!! so then i told him to match the same weight with a new harmonic balancer using the same ammount of weight he used on the flywheel, he did and NOW THE VIBRATION IS COMPLETELY GONE....i guess the point im trying to make is that my 95 flywheel and balancer WOULD NOT WORK!
