Just thought I'd throw this in to add to the confusion:

The FRONT sway bar helps transfer weight (through body roll) at the REAR axle. Sway bars on the rear axle help with weight transfer to the front end by decreasing body roll.

The Mustang was built with oversteer and removing the front sway bar makes it understeer even more so (rear axle doesn't get as much weight transfer).

Translation: You can say "...driven carefully only on weekends..." but in reality it all comes down to what happens when you have to suddenly swerve to advoid a kid on a bike, car running a stop sign, etc. You COULD be gambling on the outcome by removing the front swaybar on a Mustang.

And by the way, the sway bars on the FOX chassis Mustangs are hollow. If you most reduce weight put a fitting into the sway bar and fill it with helium. (LOL!)

if its street drive i wouldn't. I didn't have one for a while on my lowered car, and under hard cornering, that little plastic air dam would scrape the ground...lots of roll

Don't do it...My brother-in-law took his off a couple of years ago, and a few months later he had to swerve out of the way of another jackass driver and ended up losing control of the 'Stang and hit the curb; taking out the bumper cover,a-arm,etc...Not worth it!
