dont worry about the body as long as you dont have major holes. it looks like surface rust to me . get that beast running.would you ratherhave a stang that sits in the driveway looking cool or running up and down the block laying rubber ???????

i would half *** fix the rust (so it doesn't get worse) then swap out the 4 bangeror a 347 or 351.. then the rear end and subframes, wheels and tires (power is useless unless you can get the tires to hold the road) then suspension work then make the interior nice then body

i dodn't like the idea either but fast is fast... i mean shouldwe shoot people that put a ford 9" in a chevy??? all manufacturers make one part better than others do... such as the ford 9" and chevy making a better STOCK motor

Screw all this v8 BS and throw a nice turbo 4 out of a turbocoupe tbird and do some minor headwork, cam, turbo, boost controller, and blow the doors off anything. As for the body, leave it go and strip the interior down to nothing and your set for 11s!

I would pull the motor out first and start preping and painting the engine compartment; but I'd paint it the same color as I'm going to paint the car. Then I'd start looking for a 5.0 to drop down in it. I'd have all new wiring for the motor too. I might even just want to rewire the whole car while I'm at it.
