head gasket leaking only under pressure?
i filled my car up today, and left it on while fueling becuz it was past the E..
anyway i get out and start fueling and i notice a good amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. it smelt sweet like coolant but it wasnt hovering above the spoiler, so it was dicipating (coolant hovers for a while).
by the time i was done fueling all the smoke was gone. i have some things to add though...
the heater core is bypassed right at the back of the intake. it was leaking so coolant was falling onto the exhaust and u could smell it burning but no smoke. it last leaked probably a week ago and i havent smelt it since.
the car smoked bad before i got to bypass it. it was also idling at about 1500 rpm's becuz my throttle plate was getting stuck.
the car will only do this at idle
i am so confused

RE: head gasket leaking only under pressure?
there are no coolant leaks. whenit leaked before i would have to fill the rad up every few days
i check it today and the rad is full and bright green. my friend said it probably only leaking under pressure.
i heard somewhere u should let it run with the rad cap off and if it bubbles u got a headgasket leak so i did that and not 1 single bubble.
i forgot to add that i think my air pump is crapping out. i ran it for codes a week ago and said bad AIR THERMACTOR.. car runs great will hit 6000 rpm's and go 120mph in 3rd no problem.
