Default Mustangs holding value

Hey, I was just curious, after doing some heavy modding to the engine and tranny and the rest of the car, can it still hold value, or could you turn around and sell it for what you put into it. Im talking if the car was clean and in good shape and didnt have problems. Thanks in advance

At this point in time, you will NEVER get out of it what you put into it. Most people (myself included) will not buy a heavily modded car. For most, it's that they think it has been abused. In my case, I would be concerned about the quality of the workmanship of the modifications. Many dealers will not even accept a modded car in trade for those reasons. If you watch auctions, like Barrett-Jackson as an extreme example, it is the bone stock, low mile cars that bring the big bucks.

I have $12000 in my car, and if I sold it I would be LUCKY to get $4500. I still plan in dumping plenty more money in it. If you build a mustang it is for your enjoyment not resale.
