the WC is all around a better tranny than the non WC, higher power rating, easier to shift, TONS easier to rebuild, better ratios

Ho wmuch power can a stock WC handle? I am looking at 500 RWHP when done with my car. Do I need hardened gears or something? I dont want to blow up a perfectly good trans. I was thinking about a T-56 unless I dont actually need it - lets be real here, almost 2 grand on a trans is a good chunk of dough.

As you can see I am a newbie here. I dont know all the different things yet but I am getting there. What is a C-4? Is that an auto trans? I would prefer 5 speed just because I am an auto-hater lol

u sure that won't hold up??? teacher has a STOCK WC t-5 in a maveric (heavy car) running 11's and he drives it 2 or 3 days a week, so if you up date your driver mod and don't power shift then you'll be fine... however if you need a tranny anyway i would suggest a tko or t56 VIPER.. the regular t56 isn't worth the money

i bang the FU*ck out of my gears but i never power shift, t-5's don't like not having the clutch pressed, if i'm out having fun my foot never lets up on the gas pedal but i always press the clutch and my tranny is fine

OH OK. So you are saying power shift meaning not using the clutch and this of course wears the synchros out. Sorry, not all up to speed on all the terminology.

ORIGINAL: 94gtcoupe

+1 to adder... u can also take it apart to tell, but the case number is a prefered method.... and the WC is easier to shift and uses ATF not 80W90
stock t-5's take ATF too. that's what AllData says, and that's what my car says :P
