Default 88 gt wont go in time

i recently blew a head gasket and while i had everything apart i decided i was gonna go ahead a throw the cam in it. i get everything back together and it won't start it acts like its so bad outa time that it won't start. anyone know what the problem could be? thx for the info

hopefully you timed the cam and crank right when you put it all together. Otherwise you will have to do it over again.

your 180 degrees off at the distributor.


as long as the keyway on crank is at 12 00 and the one for cam gear is at 06 00 , they both face each other your good.

just 180 off on the dizzy

hah my buddy just did this on his f250

thing sounded like a pos then he got it timed right and it was DAMN loud

Im wondering if you have all your spark plug wires on the distributor cap the correct way because this will not let your car start either it would sound like if it was a timeing issue that happen to me once when i changed my spark plug wires and took them all off at once instead of removing one by one ...lol it would be a good idea to give it a check before you pull everything apart again and hope that that's your problem ....good luck ....
