Default Negatives of running w/o a thermostat?

i've been reading up a bit about thermostats and noticed that actually having one in will keep the car cooler, longer? am i reading this right? i always thought running without one would help in a hot area like miami. could anyone point me in the right direction with t-stats?

exactly what i read, because the engine will run hotter i believe. either my temperature gauge is busted, or im not sure what's going on because it doesnt look to be running hot. anyone else with some insight? would a 180 degree t-stat suffice?

I think that stock is 185 degree, just stick with stock and you'll be alright.

yeah ull lose gas mileage(the hotter it runs the better the economy) it will increase engine wear(parts dont get up to operating temp(tolerances stay large) and it will hamper power production(because of the rings etc not taking up slacek)

The OEM Tstat is 192*. I wouldn't go with anything less then a 180*.
