damn, i've always been told let off the gas and just steer where you want to go, even if the car isn't facing that direction it will correct itself... ebrake is a scary idea.

letting off the gas all the way can cause the car to snap back to fast and send the *** out the other way... if you stay in it about 1/4 thottle then you'll be less likely to snap the other way....

personaly if it doens't correct itself i like the all the way around method and then do a reverse 180 once the car starts rolling back ward.... plus if a cop is around and sees the car side ways and then you cartch it he'll think your messing around and bam theres a ticket, the all the way around thing still gets you pulled over but atleast it looked like you lost control and managed to save it... hada cop compiment me on my driving doing that on a icey road in a buddys camaro (yes i was driving a chevy long story)

2 mistakes(common) leave the e brake alone, its not gonna help in the split second you have.

Let off the gas COMPLETELY and turn the wheel in the direction sliding, never opposite.

In the worst case scenario , i had experieced was a 180* when I hit a wet spot.


I let off the gas COMPLETELY, AND TURNED THE WHEEL LEFT(the direction sliding) and the trans was thrown in first gear.


I never made it past my lane into oncoming, . very effective method taught at driving school.

Had I not remebered that, who knows what would of happened, you can even flip trying turning the opposite direction of skid.

2.door del la sol , hit a telephone phone last night.


guy had no interior, lighweight rims, the works and was not speeding. the car was so light when he hit a wet patch, and some wind, it hydroed around a bend.


He's dead/[:'(] and flowers left at the new telephone pole this morning.

thats how i wrecked my civic and i am never doin that again, just let off the gas the *** cant go sideways if there is nothing sedning it that way
