Best bang for your buck are the gears, and a good set of tires. If you plan on racing it, drag radials are great! And perform well on the street. Exhaust is next, then a cam, then heads/rockers/Intake, Fuel system is a huge part of making big power, without an upgraded pump/injectors you're going nowhere. There's so much to do, you just have to start spending some cash! With $750 I would get:
4.10 Gears if Auto or 3.73's if stick $170
Labor to install: appx. $300 (I paid 236.00)
That leaves you with appx. $280
I would go with a good set of equal length headers. Then you'll be on your way, and you'll have a start.

+1 for gears. Installation price seems to vary everywhere. I paid about $400 after tax, etc. to have my 3.90's installed.

Do you need them ASAP? If not, I would just search forums and wait until you find a set of brand new 3.73's. Its not that uncommon on here, especially other sites. OR you can just buy them new from summitracing or something.

I say gears then look at some suspension mods. You can have all the power you want in the engine but if you can't put it to the pavement then it is useless. Wait for some deals or sales...keep your eyes open for them on all the sites. Specific parts i say are gears first, springs next, then if some money is left add a little more in for some subframes.

springs- max $250 for Eibach less for BBK or FRP springs
gears- $150 est. for FRP
subframe- $89 for Competition Engineering

total of $489 for parts all brand new from Summit. Not much left for labor but save a few bucks more and you got it. Car will handle like I whole different creature.
