Default upgrades-bang for your buck

I've been looking for a fox body in decent shape for a while and I'm new to the mustang game, but I finally bought an 89 lx vert. Car is clean, rust free, rebuilt motor to factory specs new clutch. My question is the only upgrades to the car are cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust with x pipe and high flow cats. Car also has x style subframe connectors w/drive saft loop. I have about $750 buck tho put into it, at this time, and was wondering what performance upgreades would give me the most bang for my buck?I do not want to put nitrous or a supercharger on the car. I was thinking intake, throttle body, pullies...? I paid $4,200 for it, good deal???Thanks for any help.

gears or full exhaust are best bang for the buck upgrades

dont go cheap on tires either.. a nice set will make ur pony grip the road instead of spinning circles (which is fun but not when ur racing!!)

I think you should go with some gears for the best bang for buck

My gears made the car totally different. Now it can get out of its own way.

Gears first. Auto or Manual? At least 3.73's either way, maybe 4.10's for auto.

Then headers. You've already got the mid pipe and cat-back. BBK ceramic shorties or FRPP shorties are the best. Summit has some ceramic shorties for pretty cheap, but I don't know about the quality. They seem to be pretty nice, but they're new and I haven't heard anything.

Next, save up for a H/C/I swap (heads, cam, intake). Trick flow makes a badass kit for a little over 2k, or Holley has the Systemax II kit.

I went from 2.73's to 4.10's. I paid $250 to get the gears put in and the trac loc unit (posi) rebuilt. I had already bought the gears, bearing kit and rebuild kit so all the $250 was for was labor.

Yeah, a guy I know did it for me. He also replaced my heater core for $250 when everybody else wanted over $500.
