Hyper pistons are much weaker than forged pistions. Forged pistons are cast and then submitted to extreme pressures to "push" the molecules of the metal closer together. Therefore resulting in a lighter and extremly stronger piston. Hyper pistons are made of a mixture of metals and are strictly cast. Much weaker and heavier.

You can max out a block before you max out your hypers Just need to be alot more careful if running high amounts of boost, etc.

lmaomy hypers are lighter then my forged..and yes hypers a weaker but still will hold alotta hp...the biggest diff is,forged pistons need less ring thinkness so they can expand when they get hot,and lose more comp.and use more oil ..hypers have a tighter fit and lose like .003 comp, andoil,vs forged at .018% somthiun like that been awhile since i thought about it..i have seen hypers hold 150 shotta juice..when tuned right..i have had 125 allday on hypers..for the $ on a good build and 125 shot 400 rwhp hypers are fine. and cheaper.forged is good too..more $

+1 Hypers just cant handle detonation like forged pistons can... dont detonate and you will be OK!

There are people who run 200 SHOTS ON HYPERS!!! Not saying that its recommended but its been done time and time again.... I dont understand why people try to bash hypers so bad. No, I would never build a motor with them but as for in the stock shortblock they are fine. Just be safe...

forged pistons handle nitrous and boost much better though because of their tendency to expand and contract to accomodate for quickly cooling combustion chamber temps (n2o) and much hotter combustion chamber temps (boost)

Forged are usually recommended for boost or spray applications. More for the durability of the motor and components b/c most people are always looking for more once they get started. You can still run boost or spray on hyperpathetic's, but you will have to have a safer tune and limited amounts of boost.

^^ Limited is correct BUT you can easily max out a block with stock hypers..... so IMO theres no point in changing them.
