I wanted to switch my 85 lx dash out fot a 87 dash how hard is that? How bad would the wiring be?

yes you can. if you get a 140 speedo, all you have to do is change the speedo drive gear and driven gear in the tranny. easy as pie.

i just did mine it my 89 gt.swapped from a 91 gt with the 140 speedo it honestly hooked up perfectly,but the elctronic lights for like airbag an everything will stay on all the time if u have a 87-89 an put a 90-93 cluster in i just took the speedo out an placed it in the 89 bezzel works perfrect

This is what it looks like all torn down.

As you can see in Jays89GT's pic, there are 3 connections to worry about, one cable for the speedo, and 2 connections for the electronics, on the right and on the bottom left.
As for the fitment between the 2, I don't know anything about that, I had an 88 Cluster and swapped for a 140 from an 88/89, which was just plug and play.
