WHATS UP GUYS I BOUGHT A 94 RECENTLY, AND IM FIXING IT UP. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR IS WEIRD I CANT FIGURE IT OUT, WHEN I ACCELERATE PART THROTTLE EVERYTHING IS COOL, BUT WHEN I FLOOR IT- IT BACKFIRES AND DOESNT DO MUCH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES AND GOES AND SOMETIMES WHEN I FLOOR IT - IT TAKES OFF BUT KNOCKS REAL BAD LIKE THE TIMING IS TOO FAR ADVANCED. the fuel pressure is good, fuel filter is new as well as plugs and wires cap n rotor. Smells like its runnin rich. Has anyone come across something like this??? ans suggestions fellas thanks....................... oh ya sorry for the caps [align=right][/align]

Have it scanned and see what codes it's throwing.

i connected the snap on scanner, as far as codes goes it does the self test and comes out ok. but when i try to look at live data it says... no communication ..
i need to check the codes when check engine is on but its always intermittent and it goes away in 15 seconds.

Umm, I think you mentioned your issue dude. Retard your timing. What octane of fuel are you running? how much timing does it have?

timing is at base right on the mark. i was using 92 with injector cleaner"s" and octane booster, but i just filled it up with 87 and ran better, i know its not gonna last long though ...

Mass Air Meter! Mass Air Meter! Mass Air Meter!!! When I first bought my 95 this retarded kid thought the cats were plugged and it smelled really rich. So, I got the scan tool out ( make sure you go through the OBD 1 connector not OBD 2 under the dash) anyway it was showing as running really lean. Changed the mass air meter and bango. O'riley's had it on the shelf for $70.

I could be way off but I was going to say since it only acts up when it's under stress spark plugs may be arching? Bad plugs or wires, most of them time when I floored it and it acted up it was a spark issue..
