dont listen to anyone on this site who thinks they kno about a 390, its the best big block under 400 c.i. ever to come out of dearborn, ask steve mcqueen in a 390 stang he chased down a 426 hemi charger, so dont underestimate that motor built right u will c 900hp out of it, but its too heavy for a fox, u dont need it, and since ur goin with obscure motors go 351 cleve, thats a great motor, perhaps the best ford ever built.

the power to weight ratio of the 390 should be fine it will be a bad *** track car set of aluminum heads and some more work that thing will scream why do people put 460's in and big engines in mustangs if they weigh so much?

i bet you didnt know that they told the guy in the hemi to hold off cause it was sooo much faster than the mustang and they didnt want to make it look bad for the movie

Someone once told me on here, that the 390 wont work because they dont make the headers for them to fit in the fox unless you get custom made, also noone makes the oil pan for them either, again unless you custom make it. but if want to go big block just go with a 460 they have tons of aftermarket parts for them and have kits to fit into the fox.

Sorry for the double post, but that wasn't a realistic race at all. A 426 Hemi Charger would beat the living **** out of a 390 Mustang, as would a 440 Charger.
