all american v8's generally can last for nearly forever with basic mainteneace...there are plenty of american cars from the 70's that run perfectly fine wihtout having any major rebuilds. around my town..all imports are newer and there are barely any from the 80's left anymore.

mine had 145000 on it when i bought it and now i have 210000 it still runs great and as far as i can tell its never been rebuilt but it is also bone stock so that might make a diff.

I might think twice if it has..............1 billion miles! Screw the miles and buy what you want! Hell, they are rebuildable at a resonable $$$$$$$$$
