it makes almost no difference in sound, all it does is restrict your air flow into the motor. take it off

Just get a cold air intake... it adds power and then you can get rid of that ugly black stock junk.

like ok hes the dealim buying a stang 88 super clean when i turned it on i heared a lot of air what could b the problem?? could it b the air silencer

maybe it had no fan shroud? Or a vacuum leak?

It wouldnt be the silencer making a loud "air" noise if the silencer is still on the car. The only time you should hear air sucking is when you hit the throttle

have you popped the hood and found where the sound is coming from? the air box could have a gap between it and the engine bay or something like that

Air Silencer is used to restrict and quiet air flow into the the MAF and into the Intake, removes with a few bolts and drops out through the fenderwell, well worth removing.

When my little vacume tree thing on the firewall cracked I could hear it as soon as I turned the car off. sounded almost like I was purging or something.
