It wont be worth it. You're better off buying a 5.0 than doing a conversion.
The 5.0's are getting cheap nowadays. You could get a good 5.0 for$3-5K.

or, you could take the 3-5k you would spend on a 5.0 and use it to rebuild the 84 bottom end, get a trick flow top end kit, throw it in the coupe and have a nicer car thanany used 5.0 youwillfind. any 5.0 you find for 3-5k will prob have at least 100kmiles and prob have been beaten on pretty good. im about to dothe 4 banger coversion myself.i got a 1993 lx hatch in great cond(62k orig miles!!!) for 2 grand. and since it was a 4 banger, i know it hasnt been beaten on so i know the frame's not twisted, and the torque boxes are in great shape. if youve already got the 4 cyl, and access to a 302,use the $$ to hook up that car. jmo

also consider installing a 351W instead of a 302.

I think you need to upgrade the front springs tool
Think the 4 bangers had weak springs up front.

If you're going fuel injection you will need a computer and
wiring harness, fuel lines, fuel pump and injector rails.

My coupe is a converted car. The motors out of a 91. The bottom end was redone and a tf top end kit and cam. Also it was a auto.Converted that to a tko500. The rear was also out of the 91.Your going to need alot of little odds and ends .Thats what slow u down. Just when u think u have everything. Something else pops up. But for most part its not that bad.
