Default Question about tires

Hey guys i got an 89 gt and im in the process of installing the trickflow top end kit with the full bolt ons and custom exhaust, i also got subframe connectors and lower and upper control arms.. now my question is, is this the time to get slicks or can i test run my car on the track with street tires. Thanks

How often do you plan on going to the track?

p.s.
slicks will give you a way better track time no matter what you drive.

Well the track here opens on thursdays and events are mostly weekends. i want to keep it as my DD but also maybe run the thursdays at the track.

PS. My english is not that good im from Puerto Rico.

i would test witht the slicks...they are gonna hook up way better than your streets...not like you ahve to change all 4 tires...just drive to the track and swap the two rears

Or get some drag radials. They have better street manners than slicks, yet still hook up amazing

yup..my car is in pieces..it's friggin to cold to put it together...i have no tires..and the only track round here is a 1/4 mile oval...i'd say i'm all set to go....
