Default Bearing retainer Q

I am about to buy a steel bearing retainer and am wondering if there is a seal I need to buy? Someone told me to just use rtv. Thanks

You use RTV where it comes into contact with the transmission case but the input shaft needs a seal. Most of the bearing retainers come with a new seal installed, just make sure it has one in there before you put it on and the transmission in.

Are you just replacing the bearing retainer? I would replace the clutch (depending on age) and TO bearing since you're in there anyways....

Yea im gonna replace everything but thats one thing i didnt know about. What kind of rear main seals are good. On summit there are like 10 different ones.

I doubt there is alot of difference between them. I would just go to the local auto parts store and get one.
