Default Charging problem or battery

battery is dead cuz car has been sitting for 4 months. question is I just fixed the car and now it shows the battery light on the dash kinda blink sometimes. do ya'll think it is the alternator or battery? don't wanna go to autozone or advance cuz I'm selling the car and not gonna replace anything right now. The car cn be jumped and stays running for long time.

Get it running and pull the negative cable off the battery, if it dies it's the alternator, if it runs it's the battery.

Simply test the battery, ifit will keep a charge above 12.5 volts the battery should be fine. If you don;t have a meteryou might want to get one for $20 or so at sears, they will be helpful later in life, like when changeing Throttle bodies, fixing electrical problems, installing stereo equip, ect.

if the battery has sat for that long it is more than likely sulfated... stop running the car until you install a new battery... otherwise you will KILL your alternator

if it is sulfated and messed up then would that cause the light to come on like I think?

The light comes on when the module sees <12v. So, it could be a wire but considering the fact that the battery was recently dead......I bet its really seeing <12v. Follow above advice and disconnect your battery. Replace it regardless. If she stalls with no ground - its a charging system problem.
