i have 9.5 to 1 flat tops on 11 psi boost. i have to use sunoco115 octane fuel to keep the knocking at bay. i havent got around to a boost timing master yet. i like the smell anyway. get the main girdle and lifter valley girdle and the stock block will be good for 750hp. go 331 instead of a 347, you wont need to notch the bottom of the cylinder walls and lose some strenth.
You have to use 115octane gas on your engine with those specs cause you dont have an intercooler..........
intercooler would allow pump gas at that boost.

don't worry about stroking, stock engines will make enough power to crack themselves. and the internals will be fine, the block is a thin wall cast and with a good tune the block will crack before the pistons/crank. i had to take my tune down so it would last a while. now i'm running 468 hp with 512 tq, it was 502 hp, and i knew it wouldn't' last. so head over to www.turbomustangs.com and read the archives and builds to set your mind to rest. good luck

the stock block will not be strengthened by the install of girdles. many REAL knowledgable people here will agree to this.

they will however keep your internals in a nice neat pile when your cylinder banks decide to part company

im just saying i know the actual block wont be any stronger but it will keep the flexing down inside the block maybe giving you some time on the engine.why else would you put 4 bolt mains or billet steal caps on . to buy some time .

blocks with a 4 bolt main typically have a thicker main web... THATS why they are stronger
